Four Winds University is dedicated to achieving the highest standards of academic excellence and integrity. As part of our commitment to providing quality education and fostering an environment of continuous improvement, our staff is currently engaged in comprehensive preparatory training through the DEAC Online Training Center. This strategic step is essential in our journey toward meeting the stringent criteria required for formal accreditation.

Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) The DEAC is a recognized accrediting agency that ensures the quality and educational standards of distance education institutions. It evaluates institutions that provide the majority of their educational offerings (51 percent or more) through distance education. The DEAC’s scope includes a wide range of degree levels, from associate to professional doctoral degrees. Four Winds  University aims to align with these standards, emphasizing our focus on distance education and the flexibility it offers to our students.

Preparing for Accreditation Our engagement with the DEAC Online Training Center involves a series of educational sessions designed to equip our faculty and administration with the necessary knowledge and tools to successfully navigate the accreditation process. These training modules cover various aspects of distance education administration, curriculum development, student services, and regulatory compliance, all tailored to enhance the effectiveness of our educational delivery.

Filing for Accreditation Upon completion of the DEAC Online Training Center program, Four Winds University will finalize the necessary preparations to formally file for accreditation on June 1, 2025. This step will demonstrate our adherence to the rigorous standards set forth by the DEAC and will signify our readiness to be evaluated against these benchmarks.

Recognition The accreditation process and standards we aspire to meet are recognized by key bodies in higher education:

• Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA): Recognizes accrediting agencies that uphold quality assurance and continuous improvement in education.
• U.S. Department of Education (USDE): Provides oversight of accreditation and ensures that educational institutions meet required levels of quality.
